Position Summary

As a Medical Assistant, you play a vital role in helping individuals reclaim their lives from substance use disorders. Working closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and behavioral health clinicians, you will support both clinical and administrative functions to ensure safe, high-quality care and a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

Support medical providers in the delivery of patient-centered care within an Opioid Treatment Program.
Obtain vital signs, conduct medical and substance use histories, and perform baseline behavioral health screenings.
Collect and process urine samples for drug testing and laboratory confirmation.
Perform blood draws and prepare lab specimens for shipment.
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure all documentation meets regulatory standards.
Schedule and coordinate patient appointments with physicians, counselors, and external providers.
Assist with patient education, particularly for pregnant patients requiring prenatal coordination.
Maintain inventory and assist with ordering and restocking medical supplies.
Provide administrative support, including cash handling, front desk coverage, and PDMP/Central Registry data entry.
Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and complete required trainings on schedule.
Ensure confidentiality, safety, and compliance with federal and state regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED required.
Graduate of a post-secondary medical assisting program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Current Medical Assistant certificate or diploma from an accredited program (or official transcripts).
Experience performing injections.
Familiarity with PDMP systems, EHRs, and clinical documentation protocols.
Commitment to maintaining required continuing education credits.
Current CPR, First Aid, and BLS certifications preferred.
Prior experience as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare, behavioral health, or addiction setting preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must pass a background check, drug screen, and contract and state credentialing standards at start and throughout employment.
Must comply with SRTP's drug-free workplace, professional conduct, and fitness-for-duty requirements.
Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays as needed

POSITION DETAILS

Shift(s): Full Time: Monday through Friday 6am-230pm, Part Time or Weekends/Both: 6am-10am
Experience Based Compensation: $22.00 – $26.00/hour
Employment Type: Full-time or Part-time positions available
