Job Title: Manufacturing Plant Manager
Location: Santa Rosa, CA
Reports To: Director of Operations – Aluminum Division
Supervises: Approximately 50 employees across two shifts, including shop supervisors, shipping/receiving personnel, and support staff.
Position Summary
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations Santa Rosa manufacturing facility to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency. This position manages production, inventory, maintenance, and personnel activities within a 34,000-square-foot facility producing aluminum and steel components for shoring products. The Plant Manager drives performance, supports company objectives, and ensures that the facility operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all company standards. This position will be under FLSA-Exempt status.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Production Management
· Plan, organize, and oversee all plant operations including machining, welding, material cutting, assembly, shipping and receiving.
· Work with shift supervisors to develop and execute daily and weekly production schedules based on customer demand and material availability.
· Optimize workflow and equipment utilization to meet production goals and delivery commitments.
· Monitor production performance metrics and implement corrective actions to ensure efficiency and quality targets are achieved.
Leadership & Personnel Management
· Supervise and support approximately 50 employees across two shifts.
· Conduct performance evaluations, track attendance, approve timecards, and provide coaching and development opportunities for team members.
· Serve as the on-site HR representative for the Santa Rosa facility, handling day-to-day employee relations, attendance issues, and initial disciplinary actions in coordination with corporate HR in Texas.
· Partner with HR and management on recruitment, training, and disciplinary actions as needed.
· Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Safety & Compliance
· Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
· Lead and participate in regular safety inspections and weekly safety meetings.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
Inventory & Materials Management
· Oversee inventory accuracy for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
· Perform periodic spot checks and coordinate with the Inventory Control Specialist to resolve discrepancies.
· Approve invoices and expenses related to plant operations, including shop supplies, repair parts, tools, and local material purchases, in accordance with company policy.
· Coordinate with the Director of Operations or Purchasing Department for large-scale aluminum and material orders.
Continuous Improvement
· Identify and suggest process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
· Coordinate with other departments as needed to resolve production, material, or quality issues that impact plant operations.
· Support approved company initiatives and process improvements within the plant.
Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing management, preferably in metal fabrication or machining environments.
· Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple departments and shifts.
· Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
· Proficient in production scheduling, workflow management, and lean manufacturing principles.
· Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and inventory control.
· Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and quality management.
· Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Physical and Work Environment
· This is a fully on-site position based at the Santa Rosa, CA manufacturing facility.
· Work is performed in a production environment with regular exposure to machinery, noise, and typical shop conditions.
· The Plant Manager must be able to move throughout the facility to observe operations and interact with employees on the shop floor.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
