Job Description
This position will provide professional psychological services to TRIO SAS students at Winona State University. This will include, but not be limited to individual and group therapy, case consultation, and assessments. This position will also provide academic advising services, workshop development, and coordinate tutoring for students. They will be actively engaged in department and division activities and workshops on Winona campus. Evening and weekend hours may be required.
Responsibilities
1. Provide therapy/counseling services. Meet specific TRIO SAS student needs by providing individual therapy, group therapy, psychological evaluations of student’s mental, emotional and behavioral status and make recommendations to clinical staff, documenting all services according to professional standards, continually assess case information and develop alternative treatments as needed (document progress after each visit, complete paperwork in a timely fashion and conform to professional standards), participate in ongoing supervision with clinical supervisor while pursuing licensure. This position is the clinical staff and will be expected to consult with peers when needed.
2. Provide academic advising, tutoring and workshop coordination. Provide academic, financial aid and career advising to TRIO-eligible students. Assess student eligibility for the TRIO Student Ability Services program. Conduct needs assessments and develop individual support plans for qualified students. Collect and analyze data for use in writing the grant proposal and annual performance reports and for use in evaluating program outcomes and future program needs.
3. Participate in both TRIO and Counseling department, division, and University related meetings and functions as determined by supervisors. Participate in staff, consultation, and other meetings within both departments. Participate in projects and meetings both in and outside departments. Participate in other professional duties as assigned by supervisor. Serve on University committees, taskforces, and workgroups. Participate in University events. Use professional standards and conduct in all activities. Document all activities and participate in developing both department year-end reports and the TRIO Annual Performance Report. Participate in professional development activities such as conferences and workshops.
4. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner.
Salary Range: $30.76 - $45.26
Minimum Qualifications
- Current pursuit of independent state license through supervision within board-specified required timeframe
- Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal, written, and public speaking.
- Effective organizational and administrative skills.
- Timeliness and attention to detail in work functions.
- Must pass a Psychotherapist check per Minnesota Statutes Chapter 604.20 prior to hire.
Must also pass a Criminal History Records check pursuant to MN Statute 299C.60-64
