Open Position: Utility Coordinator

Job Description: As a Utility Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in the planning, coordination, and management of utility procurement on various federal, state, and local government projects within our organization. Your primary responsibility will involve overseeing utility coordination projects from conception to completion per project specific scope initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining a seamless flow of communication between internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

➢ Collaborating with cross-functional disciplines and team leads to develop utility project plans, cost estimates, and schedule timelines.

➢ Conduct thorough assessments of existing utility infrastructure and identify areas for improvement or expansion; as well as areas to avoid or minimize potential utility impacts.

➢ Identify and evaluate best practices to maximize project schedule efficiency and minimize costs.

➢ Liaise with all pertinent agencies, utility providers, and contractors to obtain necessary plans, permits and approvals.

➢ Understand and utilize vector and raster-based software to create detailed utility designs, maps, and documentation. (i.e., MicroStation and Bluebeam)

➢ Monitor project progress and address any potential issues to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

➢ Implement quality control measures to guarantee the safety and constructability of utility designs, regulations, and relocations.

➢ Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of utility operations.

➢ Prioritize and log all project relevant information and maintain retention policies.

Requirements:

➢ Experience in utility coordination or a related field (2-4 years).

➢ Proficiency in using vector and raster-based software for utility design, procurement, and documentation.

➢ Strong understanding of various utility infrastructure, including electricity, communications, gas, water, and sewer.

➢ Excellent project management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks effectively along with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.

➢ Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

➢ Self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
