About you:

Colorado’s mountain communities are on the frontlines of wildfire danger. We’re the crew that prevents the next big blaze. As a Forestry Technician at Bear Claw, you’ll run heavy equipment, drop trees with precision, and keep Colorado’s mountain towns safe.
This isn’t punching a clock in some warehouse. This is real work, outdoors, in the Rockies. What you’ll do…? Here’s the fun part:
- Operate big toys: skid steers, mastication heads, excavators, tracked chippers, log grapples.
- Chainsaw mastery: drop, limb, and buck trees with precision.
- Slash management: chip it, haul it, burn it, scatter it.
- Erosion control: contour felling, install erosion barriers.
- Equipment care: daily inspections + field repairs.
- Work across Colorado’s best mountain towns (Grand, Summit, Eagle counties, and beyond). Per diem covered when travel is necessary.
Requirements:
- Sawyer Skills: You know your way around a chainsaw.
- Heavy Equipment Experience: Hands-on time running forestry skid steers with mulchers, track hoes, excavators, and tracked chippers (2+ years)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Driver’s license & car required
