Halcyon Underwriters is an established and growing National Wholesaler/Broker located in Maitland FL. To inquire about a Commercial Lines Assistant Underwriter position, at the Maitland, FL office please apply including a copy of your current resume. High performers for this position tend to be fast paced, analytical, intuitive, focused, detail oriented and possess generally good business instincts & critical thinking skills.

Salary

Negotiable

Primary/Essential Duties

Underwriting, rating and marketing of new and renewal policy submissions
Negotiate terms and conditions with agent/carrier underwriters including pricing, additional coverages, deductibles and exclusions
Solicit additional lines of coverage.
Review insurance applications and quotes for accuracy/completeness
Servicing existing renewals, surplus lines review, following up for underwriting information
Maintain/arrange client files, submission files, issuing policies and endorsements, invoicing policies, policy disbursement, audit reviews
Maintaining quality control guidelines and meeting requirements for licensing
Building key relationships with both retail & carrier partners while supporting the
Production Underwriter

Qualifications

Holds an active state insurance license 4-40
Two to Three Years of Commercial Lines Insurance experience
Carrier rating experience
Highly supportive of the Sales & Production process
Strong PC skills including Word & Excel
Must be detail-oriented and possess the ability to multi-task
Ability to work well with others in a production team environment
Committed to excellent customer service

Physical Requirements

Manual dexterity, arm and upper body range of motion sufficient for use of a keyboard, mouse and telephone 7-8 hours per day.
Speech and hearing sufficient for in-person and telephone communication 7-8 hours per day.
Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor.
Ability to sit at a desk 7-8 hours per day.
