Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of creating authentic and visually stunning sushi dishes that delight our guests. Your expertise in Japanese cuisine, food preparation, and food safety will ensure a memorable dining experience. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary artistry in a dynamic, fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence and innovation.

Duties

Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness throughout the kitchen
Plan and develop sushi menus that balance tradition with creativity, catering to diverse tastes
Handle all aspects of food preparation including slicing fish, rolling sushi, and garnishing plates
Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and rotated according to safety standards
Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and maintain efficient workflow
Serve dishes with professionalism and enthusiasm, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within fine dining or Japanese cuisine settings
Strong knife skills and expertise in food handling, preparation, and presentation techniques
Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices
Experience with menu planning, catering, and food industry standards
Excellent skills in food service, cooking, and meal preparation in a fast-paced environment
Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus but not required
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
