About Agape House

Agape House is a Christ-centered nonprofit organization serving at-risk youth and their families through Residential, Day/School, Counseling, Parent, and Transitional Living programs.

For over 25 years, Agape House has helped pre-teens, teens, and young adults overcome the effects of abuse and trauma through guidance and support that fosters love, grace, acceptance, security, and value for who they are — not what they do.

Our mission is to assist in bringing transformational hope and healing to at-risk youth, their families, and the community. Our holistic approach is rooted in biblical faith, unconditional love, grace-based interventions, trauma-informed care, and a relationship with Jesus Christ.

This role operates within a distinctly Christian, trauma-informed environment. Staff are expected to actively support and uphold the Christ-centered mission of Agape House and contribute to a culture grounded in grace, accountability, and spiritual maturity.

Position Summary

The Residential Girls Home Mom is the heart of the Agape House girls’ residential home, providing consistent, grace-filled, and Christ-centered care to teen girls who are navigating trauma, healing, and growth. This is not a job — it is a ministry calling. The ideal candidate leads the home with the instinct of a loving mother, the wisdom of a seasoned caregiver, and the spiritual grounding of someone who understands that every girl in her care is worthy of love, dignity, and a second chance.

This position may be filled by a woman serving individually or by a married couple. Where a couple serves together, the House Mom leads the household and the House Dad serves as a Godly example of a father and husband, supporting his wife and the girls in their care. A separate House Parents role exists for the Agape House boys’ residential home.

This is a full-time, full-year, in-person position. On-site housing is available for the House Mom and is encouraged, as proximity to the home supports the rhythm and demands of this role. Living on property is not required, however on-call availability outside of scheduled hours is — this is a 24/7 residential home and the unexpected is part of the calling. Summer months offer a lighter schedule with opportunity for vacation, while participating collaboratively with the leadership team in home reset and preparation for the incoming school year.

Key Responsibilities Overview

Serve as the primary caregiver and household leader for the girls’ residential home, maintaining a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment
Model and cultivate consistent, grace-filled discipline, healthy boundaries, and unconditional love in daily interactions with residents
Coordinate daily household functions including meals, recreation, chores, and household routines
Identify and respond to the spiritual, emotional, and behavioral needs of each resident with compassion and appropriate intervention
Facilitate regular communication with parents/guardians and Agape House staff regarding resident wellbeing and progress
Supervise and support Social Emotional Learning Aids (SELAs) in scheduling and daily responsibilities, ensuring required staffing ratios are maintained at all times
Transport residents to approved activities, appointments, and events including church
Maintain on-call availability outside scheduled hours to support the safety and needs of residents

Required Qualifications Overview

Demonstrated love for Christ and a calling to serve hurting youth in a ministry context
Prior experience in parenting, caregiving, residential care, or a related human services role
Ability to maintain emotional regulation and model grace-based accountability in high-stress situations
Demonstrated ability to maintain personal emotional regulation during and after high-stress interactions, including the use of known and practiced personal strategies to decompress and reset
Strong communication skills with youth, families, and a team of staff
Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications Overview

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field
3–5 years of relevant ministry or direct care experience working with at-risk youth
Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles and grace-based intervention approaches
Certification in Trauma-Informed Care or a recognized crisis intervention framework (e.g. CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, TCI, TBRI Practitioner)

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
