Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Grant Writer to join our team and drive our fundraising efforts through compelling proposal development and strategic grant management. In this role, you will identify funding opportunities, craft persuasive grant proposals, and manage the entire grant lifecycle to support our organization’s programs and initiatives. Your expertise will help secure vital resources, strengthen community impact, and advance our mission. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while honing your skills in nonprofit funding strategies and proposal writing.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive research on potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources aligned with organizational goals.
Develop clear, persuasive, and well-structured grant proposals, including narrative content, budgets, and supporting documents.
Manage the entire grant submission process, ensuring timely and accurate submissions in compliance with funder requirements.
Maintain detailed records of grant applications, awards, deadlines, and reporting requirements using databases such as Raiser's Edge or similar systems.
Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information for proposals and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
Monitor grant-funded projects’ progress, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Edit and proofread all proposal materials for clarity, accuracy, and professionalism while maintaining a persuasive tone that highlights organizational strengths.

Experience

Proven experience in grant writing within nonprofit organizations or community-based settings.
Strong background in researching grant funding opportunities across government agencies, foundations, and nonprofit sectors.
Demonstrated success in securing grants through proposal development, including budget creation and narrative storytelling.
Familiarity with contract management processes and database management systems like Raiser's Edge or equivalent platforms.
Experience managing multiple grants simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and reporting requirements.
Excellent technical writing skills with an emphasis on clarity, organization, and persuasive communication.
Knowledge of nonprofit program development, strategic planning, budgeting, and financial report writing is highly desirable.
