Wisconsin Veterans Home at Chippewa Falls is a 72-bed skilled nursing facility dedicated to serving Wisconsin veterans and their families. As Assistant Executive Director, you’ll work closely alongside the Executive Director and community leadership team while gaining broad exposure to the operational, financial, regulatory, and people-focused components of skilled nursing leadership. You’ll also provide administrative leadership in the Executive Director’s absence and serve as acting Executive Director when needed.

Partner closely with the Executive Director to plan, develop, and implement operational strategies that support exceptional resident care and overall community performance.
Support the day-to-day operations of the 72-bed skilled nursing facility while helping ensure quality care, regulatory compliance, and strong operational outcomes.
Provide administrative direction in the Executive Director’s absence, serving as acting Executive Director when needed.
Serve as an integral member of the Leadership Team, providing support and leadership across community programs, projects, and operational initiatives.
Provide direct oversight and leadership to assigned departments and department leaders.
Conduct regular community rounds and maintain open communication with residents, families, and team members to proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
Address concerns and complaints in a timely, thoughtful, and effective manner.
Represent community administration in Quality Assurance initiatives and partner with department leaders to support continuous improvement.
Assist with audits, survey preparation, regulatory compliance, and follow-up to maintain strong operational and quality standards.
Partner with the Executive Director in developing and implementing community policies and procedures.
Help ensure operations remain aligned with resident needs, company standards, and applicable state, federal, and local regulations.
Oversee assigned Caring Above & Beyond programs and help bring HDG’s commitment to exceptional service to life throughout the community.
Support new hire orientation and mentorship to help team members feel welcomed, prepared, and positioned for success.
Partner with community leadership to coordinate required education, training, and professional development.
Ensure required education is completed and team members have the tools and resources needed to succeed.
Support Compliance and Employee Safety initiatives and requirements.
Provide coaching, direction, and support to assigned department leaders and team members while promoting accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
Help foster a positive workplace culture centered on collaboration, communication, and exceptional service.
Partner with the Executive Director and Finance leadership in the development of budgets and required financial reporting.
Support department leaders in the ongoing financial management and performance of their departments.
Help identify opportunities to strengthen operational efficiencies and drive successful financial results.
Support community census goals and required reporting.
Collaborate with local healthcare partners and community stakeholders to strengthen relationships and support the continued success of Wisconsin Veterans Home at Chippewa Falls.
High school diploma required.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience within a licensed Skilled Nursing Facility or Senior Housing setting required.
Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience required.
Experience with project planning, development, and implementation.
Experience collaborating with local healthcare partners.
Experience and demonstrated ability to drive successful financial results.
Strong knowledge of state, federal, and local regulations applicable to long-term care.
Computer proficiency and comfort working with technology and business systems.
Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to provide effective supervision and direction.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
Ability to work effectively under pressure within a fast-paced skilled nursing environment.
Ability to take initiative, work independently with minimal supervision, and follow through on responsibilities.
