First Choice Credit Union is seeking a collaborative, community-minded leader to serve as its next President / Chief Executive Officer. Headquartered in Marshfield, Wisconsin, First Choice Credit Union has been proudly serving the Marshfield Community for nearly 60 years. We are dedicated to helping all who live or work in Wood, Marathon, Clark, and Portage counties, as well as their immediate families.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the President/CEO is the chief executive officer of First Choice Credit Union. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, financial performance, safety and soundness, regulatory compliance, and member service excellence of the organization.
At our asset size, this role is uniquely both strategic and hands-on. You will provide high-level leadership to the staff and senior management team while remaining deeply involved in day-to-day operations.
Your key focus areas will include:
- Strategic Leadership & Governance: Partnering closely with the Board of Directors to execute the Credit Union’s mission, vision, and strategic plan. Serving as the primary liaison between management and the Board, providing transparent and timely reporting on financials, risk, and operations.
- Financial Safety & Soundness: Overseeing budgeting, financial forecasting, and asset/liability management (ALM). Monitoring key financial metrics such as net worth, loan growth, delinquency, liquidity, and earnings to ensure long-term stability.
- Operations & Lending Guidance: Directing daily operations across lending, deposit services, collections, and delivery channels. You will work closely with and provide direct guidance to the lending team, ensuring a strong focus on loan growth and high-quality member service.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensuring full compliance with all federal and state regulations, including NCUA requirements and statutes pertaining to Wisconsin credit unions. Serving as the primary contact for regulators, examiners, and auditors.
- Culture & Community: Recruiting, coaching, and developing staff while promoting professional development and succession planning. Representing First Choice Credit Union in the community, building strong external relations with business partners, vendors, and local organizations to promote our brand and values.
The ideal candidate is an approachable, hands-on leader who thrives in a collaborative credit union environment and possesses a deep commitment to member service.
We are looking for a professional who brings:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Leadership Experience: A minimum of 5 to 10 years of progressive leadership experience in a credit union or financial institution. Senior management or executive-level experience is preferred, particularly within small to mid-sized credit unions.
- Lending & Collections Expertise: A strong understanding and successful history of originating consumer and mortgage lending, paired with strong collections knowledge and experience.
- Financial & Regulatory Acumen: Proven financial acumen, including budgeting, ALM, and financial analysis. Thorough knowledge of NCUA regulations, Wisconsin credit union statutes, internal controls, and sound accounting practices.
- Interpersonal & Strategic Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. The ability to articulate a clear strategic vision to the Board while maintaining a high level of operational involvement with staff and members.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
