Position Overview
CBS Global USA Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated PLC Programmer / Controls Engineer to join our growing Automation & Robotics team. This position will support industrial automation, robotics integration, machine commissioning, and controls engineering projects throughout North America.
The ideal candidate will have strong PLC programming experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to support machine startups, system integration, and customer commissioning activities. This is a hands-on role that requires collaboration with electrical, mechanical, controls, and manufacturing teams to deliver successful automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, test, and troubleshoot PLC programs for industrial automation equipment and production systems.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, robotics, and controls engineering teams throughout project execution.
- Support machine build, integration, commissioning, installation, and production launch activities.
- Debug I/O systems, safety circuits, motion control systems, and industrial communication networks.
- Implement PLC software updates and process improvements based on project and customer requirements.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, robotics, and automation system issues during machine startup and commissioning.
- Support industrial robot integration and automated material handling systems.
- Provide customer training and technical support during equipment installation and launch activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to PLC programs, electrical modifications, machine updates, and commissioning records.
- Travel to customer facilities to support installation, startup, troubleshooting, and service activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of PLC programming experience in an industrial automation environment.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and automation controls.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with servo systems, VFDs, motion control systems, and industrial networking.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
