Lead Sheet Metal Fabricator / Model Maker

Sheet Metal Fabricator Job Summary:
A leading Prototype & Production Manufacturing Company, specializing in CNC and Sheet Metal work is looking for a Sheet Metal Model Maker/Fabricator to join their team.
Please, Do not apply unless you have at least, 5 years experience working in a manufacturing company specializing in making parts for various industries such as Automotive.
This is NOT HVAC Sheet Metal Duct Fabricating.
The ideal candidate has completed a training program through an industry apprenticeship or has at least 5 years of manufacturing experience in a machine shop performing Automotive Sheet Metal Fabricating.
Knowledge/Experience in Welding (MIG & TIG) is a Big Plus, but Not Required.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 5-Years’ experience in metal working in a Machine Shop
- Read and interpret simple and complex engineering prints accurately
- Must be able to read Calipers, Micrometers and other various measuring equipment
- Must have extensive experience using Press Breaks, Hydraulic and Mechanical Presses, and other metal forming and stamping equipment
- Strong understanding of Basic Shop Math/Arithmetic
- Experience deburring parts with deburring tools, grinders, etc.
- High level of organizational skills and self discipline
- Supervisor/Leadership experience
- Computer Proficiency
- Good People Skills Ability to Attend, Communicate and Contribute to Leader/Team Meetings
- Desire to continually learn and develop technical skills
- Strong mechanical skill and aptitude
- Quality and accuracy focused
- Must have own tools
Desired Skills:
- Set a Tool to Press
- Develop a Part from a Press
- Automotive Sheet Metal Fabrication experience (Not HVAC)
- Welding of ferrous and non-ferrous metals with MIG & TIG welding machines is a Big Plus, but not a requirement
- Spot Welding knowledge
- Operating a Manual Mill and Lathe
Candidate to Client Submission Procedure: Upon successful MeritHall Interview, Candidate Resume is Emailed to Client, a Job Site Interview is Scheduled and after a successful Interview a Wage Rate and Start Date is negotiated.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay Range:
$30 to $35 per hour, determined by Client, following successful site Interview.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday: (Required) 7 AM to 3:30 PM, (5:30 for 10-Hour Schedule)
- Saturday: 7 AM to Noon or 3:30 PM, as Required and Directed
- Sunday: (Rarely and only as Required and Directed)
This is a Temp-To-Hire Option
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
