Users benefit from the most operationally effective multi-layered radiation detection and identification systems. For the last 24+ years, Symetrica has produced a wide breadth of best-in-class radiation detection solutions. More recently, the company has experienced rapid growth as the company has introduced new products and solutions and additionally has scaled the leadership of the commercial teams. The company has dedicated specialist staff and manufacturing plants in Westford (MA) and Southampton (UK) for the design, manufacture, and support of its product range.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Manager to oversee and enhance our Quality Management Systems (QMS) across the UK and USA. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving quality processes to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

This role plays a key part in driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction, ensuring compliance with relevant ISO standards.

Key Responsibilities

Quality System Management

Develop, implement, and maintain a robust Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with relevant industry standards and regulations
Prepare, manage, and control quality documentation
Lead quarterly business reviews with the leadership team

Quality Assurance

Ensure consistent application of the QMS across all departments and locations
Define and maintain quality standards, specifications, and procedures
Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure quality performance

Quality Improvement

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction
Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action processes
Conduct audits and assessments to identify improvement opportunities
Implement best practices to improve product reliability and reduce defects

Regulatory & Safety Compliance

Ensure compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and industry standards
Lead ISO audits in the UK and support global compliance initiatives
Maintain quality and regulatory documentation and records
Ensure adherence to EHS and radiation safety standards and training

Supplier Quality

Manage supplier quality performance and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards
Establish supplier quality requirements and conduct supplier audits
Collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure materials and components meet specifications
Maintain the Approved Supplier List in NetSuite and develop supplier performance scorecards

Training and Development

Provide training and guidance to employees on quality principles, processes, and procedures
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness
Support the implementation of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies

Customer Focus

Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns
Investigate and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner
Build and maintain strong customer relationships based on quality performance

Reporting and Analysis

Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions
Prepare and present quality reports to senior management and key stakeholders
Participate in management reviews and contribute to business planning and KPIs
Monitor and report on RMAs and MRB activities

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Engineering, Quality Management)
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Quality Manager or similar role, ideally within technology or manufacturing
Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems and regulatory standards
Proven experience leading successful ISO audits
Experience with quality methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite desirable)
Professional certification (e.g. ASQ Certified Quality Manager) preferred
Willingness to travel internationally as required
