Full Job Description

Hightower Equipment is searching for a dependable, safety-minded Yard Associate to join our team in Lubbock. This hands-on position is responsible for loading and unloading construction equipment and materials, operating a forklift, organizing inventory, maintaining a clean and safe yard, and assisting customers.

The ideal candidate is reliable, works well with others, and takes pride in keeping materials and work areas organized. Previous forklift, warehouse, lumberyard, construction-supply, or material-handling experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.

Responsibilities

Load and unload customer and delivery vehicles safely and efficiently
Operate a forklift and other approved material-handling equipment
Receive, move, organize, and stage products and materials
Assist customers with loading equipment and materials
Provide instruction to customers on how to operate equipment safely
Keep the yard, work areas, and equipment clean and organized
Complete basic equipment inspections before use
Document equipment condition and hours digitally
Report damaged items, inventory discrepancies, and safety concerns
Follow company procedures and all applicable safety requirements
Work cooperatively with yard, office, sales, and delivery team members
Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old
Dependable attendance and punctuality
Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical work throughout the shift
Ability to regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed
Professional and helpful attitude with customers and coworkers
Forklift or material-handling experience is preferred
Inventory, warehouse, lumberyard, or construction-supply experience is a plus
Must be willing to complete required forklift and safety training

Compensation and Schedule

Starting pay of $15–$18 per hour, based on relevant experience and qualifications
Full-time, Monday through Friday
Shift will generally be either 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
Overtime paid when applicable
