Position Summary

MetaBrand is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Lead to oversee our maintenance operations while actively working alongside the team to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment and facility systems.

This role combines technical expertise with team leadership. The ideal candidate will manage maintenance personnel, coordinate daily work orders and preventive maintenance programs, and ensure equipment reliability across the facility. This is not a desk-based management position. The Maintenance Lead will be expected to regularly perform maintenance work, support production, lead projects, and provide technical guidance to the maintenance team.

The successful candidate is a self-starter, problem solver, and hands-on leader who can take ownership of projects from concept to completion while helping keep our manufacturing operation running safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Leadership & Department Management

Lead, train, mentor, and support the maintenance team.
Coordinate daily maintenance activities, work orders, and project assignments.
Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance programs.
Prioritize maintenance requests to minimize production downtime.
Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support for complex equipment issues.
Maintain maintenance records, schedules, manuals, and documentation.
Coordinate with production teams to support operational goals.

Equipment Maintenance & Installation

Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and upgrade manufacturing equipment.
Work on fillers, cappers, conveyors, depalletizers, pumps, and other production machinery.
Assist with equipment installations, commissioning, and startup activities.
Interface with equipment manufacturers and vendors for repairs, upgrades, and new equipment acquisitions.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational issues to maximize equipment reliability and performance.

Mechanical, Electrical & Utility Systems

Install and maintain stainless-steel process piping, pumps, valves, tanks, and related equipment.
Perform electrical work, including wiring and equipment connections for:
3-Phase 460V
3-Phase 240V
Single-Phase 240V
Single-Phase 115V
Maintain low-pressure boiler systems.
Maintain glycol cooling systems, rooftop refrigeration units, and fan condensers.
Install and repair water lines, DWV PVC piping, and facility utility systems.

Facility Maintenance & Improvement Projects

Maintain the facility in a safe, organized, and operational condition.
Install and organize storage racks and material-handling systems.
Support facility improvement projects, including lighting upgrades and infrastructure enhancements.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and workplace safety.
Ensure tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies are organized and readily available.

Production Support

Work directly on the production floor to support manufacturing operations when needed.
Assist production teams in maintaining schedules and minimizing downtime.
Respond to equipment emergencies and production-related maintenance issues.
Remain flexible and willing to support multiple operational areas as business needs evolve.

Qualifications

Required

Proven experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, manufacturing, or related technical field.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and facility systems.
Experience leading maintenance activities, projects, or personnel.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to read, interpret, and execute projects from drawings, diagrams, sketches, or verbal direction.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and respond to emergency maintenance needs as required.
Ability to lift, climb, bend, and work in an active manufacturing environment.

Preferred

Previous experience in beverage manufacturing, food production, packaging, or similar industrial environments.
Technical school, trade school, military training, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Bilingual English/Spanish.
Experience managing preventive maintenance systems and maintenance scheduling.
Experience with refrigeration, utility systems, and production line equipment.
Highly organized with tools, inventory, spare parts, and maintenance documentation.
