Full Job Description

Job Description/Summary:

Bowen CPA LLC is a small CPA firm located in the mountain community of Woodland Park, CO. We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our small team of professionals. As the first point of contact for our clients, this position requires excellent customer service skills. A successful candidate will be a resourceful individual who is organized, has excellent communication skills, has attention to detail, and is able to multitask.

The position has a seasonal requirement of overtime during tax season January-mid April. The opportunity for overtime is dictated by the needs of the business and varies each week. The reward for the hard work during tax season is a slower pace during the off-season May-December. During that time, this position is needed 32-36 hours per week, with half day workday on Fridays. This allows you to enjoy the beautiful summers in Colorado! As this is an in-person position, candidates who live within 30 minutes will be given preference.

Bowen CPA LLC offers a Simple IRA match of 3%. We offer Paid Time Off (PTO) accruing up to 10 days your first year and 14 days after two years of service. We also have paid Holidays. The base rate of pay depends on your experience, $17-21 per hour. This is paid at time and a half for OT during tax season. In addition, the position will receive a review after the first 6 months, annual compensation reviews based on hire date and an after-tax season bonus.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

· Answering telephones, taking messages, checking voice mail, scheduling appointments, greeting walk-in clients, fulfilling client requests.

· Running errands: drop off/pick up mail, drop off bank deposits, pick up office/kitchen supplies.

· General office duties: Preparing documents for mailing, maintaining office/kitchen supplies inventory, scanning, faxing.

· Set up and maintain client database in multiple systems: Time and Billing System (TPS), ATX tax software, electronic filing system, as well as paper filing cabinets.

· Maintain the office including organization of reception area, removing waste, watering plants, cleaning fridge, cleaning microwave and washing dishes.

· Preparing invoices and monthly statements in multiple systems.

· Preparing, entering and maintaining documentation for bank deposits in multiple systems.

· Contact clients for tax return, bookkeeping and payroll related information.

· Draft, refine and send business correspondence, reports, and client communications with precision and professionalism.

· Check in sensitive client documents for preparation of tax returns and organizing tax materials.

· Prepare copies of completed tax returns for presentation to the client.

· Provide data entry for tax forms in ATX tax software.

· Assist in project management by tracking tasks, deadlines, and deliverables.

· Provide data entry for bookkeeping leading to financial statement preparation. (Training provided.)

· Preparation of payroll, payment of employer payroll tax liability, assistance with quarterly payroll reports. (Training provided.)

· Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

· Serve as assistant to the CPA and the Bookkeeper.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Previous administrative experience required.

· Customer Service.

· Maintain confidential information.

· Have a working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.

· Strong organization and planning skills with attention to detail.

· Able to prioritize and meet deadlines.

· Basic payroll and bookkeeping skills are desired but not required as training is provided.

· Pass a background check.

· Available Monday-Friday in office.

· Available for overtime January-Mid April.

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
