Full Job Description

Premier Health Associates is currently seeking a part-time (1-2 days per week) Vascular Technologist. Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited vascular program with a minimum of two years’ experience. Dual certification in Echocardiography a PLUS.

Summary:

Performance of IAC Vascular compliant studies for the use in diagnosis of cardiovascular disorders as directed by a physician and ensure appropriate documentation and continuous quality patient care.

Qualifications:

· Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular program required.

· Appropriate credentialing in vascular (RVT or RVS) is required.

· BLS certification is required.

· Minimum two years’ experience in an out-patient and/or hospital setting

· Ability to work one evening per week until 7 p.m.

· Must be able to work independently

Essential Functions:

· Performs comprehensive ultrasound exams. Follows established protocols to perform exam and report findings. Verifies identity and informs and observes patients during procedure to ensure patient education, cooperation, and safety. Assists in continuing quality assurance and performance improvement.

· Completes clerical tasks associated with ultrasound tests. Completes and records all testing information accurately, completely, and in a timely manner. Ensures that critical results are reported promptly and accurately, following an established policy. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

· Communicate with physicians, patients, and other center personnel. Maintains pleasant and informative manner in communicating with patients, physicians, and other center personnel. Makes recommendations to supervisor on related duties, policies and procedures.

· Enhances the environment of teamwork. Show motivation, enthusiasm, acceptance of responsibilities, and personal accountability with regard to daily duties.

· Engage in problem solving in difficult situations. Ask for assistance / guidance when appropriate and accept suggestions in a positive manner.

· Demonstrate understanding of the impact of individual performance on the team. Seeks to mentor and develop others.

· Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner. Cleans patient areas after each use and assists in maintaining a clean and orderly environment in the lab. Notifies supervisor of stocking needs and equipment needs or problems.

· Take responsibility for lab opening and closing procedures when appropriate.

· Cleans and maintains all equipment according to Infection Control policies and procedures.
