Job Title: Fee for Service Other Licensed Professional (OLP)

Department: Children and Families Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS)

Reports to: Aricia Lewis, LMFT - Director

Salary Range: Salary based on degree, experience, qualifications, interventions and productivity:

· LMSW: Evaluations $20.00 per unit (15-minute units) up to $160.00 per session/per client (up to 2 ½ hours per session/ per client). Ongoing therapeutic sessions $13.75 per unit/per client (15-minute units) up to $55.00 per session/per client (up to 1 hour per session/ per client)

· Bilingual Licensed Professional: Evaluations $21.25 per unit/per client (15-minute units) up to $170.00 per session/per client (for up to 2 ½ hours per session/ per client). Ongoing therapeutic sessions $15.00 per unit/per client (15-minute units) up to $60 per session/per client (up to 1 hour per session/ per client).

· LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAT: Evaluations $22.50 per unit/per client (15-minute units) up to $180 per session/per client (for up to 2 ½ hours per session/ per client). Ongoing therapeutic sessions: $15.00 per unit/per client (15-minute units) up to $60 per session/per client (up to 1 hour per session/ per client).

Work Hours: Minimum 5hrs-10 hours per week. Schedule varies based upon client’s availability

Location: In the Community (Face to face)/ Virtual Sessions on a case-by-case basis

About Coalition for Hispanic Family Services (CHFS):

CHFS is a community- based, family-focused organization of color providing an array of services to children and families in North Brooklyn and Western Queens. For over 34 years, CHFS has worked with vulnerable populations that include children in foster care, seriously emotionally disturbed children, youth, and families at risk of abuse and neglect. Our strength-based model also supports progressive youth development programs, family support services and community school partnerships, The provision of accessible, high-quality family focused services to families of color is central to our holistic approach of strengthening families in a culturally competent manner. Our family- centered work serves to strengthen communities one family at a time.

About Program:

CFTSS is an intensive community-based approach designed to help children and adolescents with behavioral health issues and their families. Providers work in teams to help children/youth and their families build skills for better managing behaviors, to enhance their ability to meet the unique needs of a child/youth, and to support families so that they may be more successful together. One of the fundamentals of CFTSS is that children are most successful at recovering from their problems when their caregivers are fully involved and committed to working alongside them. CFTSS services give children/adolescents (under age 21) and their families the power to improve their mental health, well-being and quality of life.

All CFTSS services are provided in a variety of settings including community locations where the child/adolescents live, works, attends school, engages in services and or socializes.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Other Licensed Professional (OLP) will provide community based mental health services in the home and other natural community-based settings, to children/youth through the age of 21. The services are designed to prevent the progression of behavioral health conditions through early identification and intervention, and to assess the needs of children/youth for which behavioral health conditions have not yet been diagnosed. This multi-component role consists of providing psychosocial evaluations and intake assessments, treatment planning, crisis intervention and planning, and individual, group, and family therapy. The Licensed Clinician provides community-based services to children and families who may have difficulty engaging in formal office settings but can benefit from home and/or community-based therapy and rehabilitative services. The goal is to restore, rehabilitate, and support a child’s/youth’s functioning as necessary for integration as an active and productive member of their family and community, to achieve minimal on-going professional intervention, and to develop and apply skills in natural settings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- The completion of a comprehensive clinical assessment to identify a child/youth and family’s behavioral strengths and challenges, problems and service needs, through the observation and evaluation of the child/youth/family’s current mental, physical and behavioral conditions and history.

- Diagnose, and/or determine medical necessity for services that will correct or ameliorate conditions discovered during the initial assessment.

- Develop a treatment plan with the child/family to restore functioning and/or ameliorate behavioral health symptoms.

- Provide psychotherapy (counseling) for the purpose of alleviating symptoms or functional limitations associated with a child/youth’s diagnosed behavioral health disorder

- Provide crisis intervention when and if the child/youth experiences psychiatric, behavioral or situational distress

- Connect child/family to medically necessary rehabilitative services based on needs identified in the comprehensive clinical assessment and provide psychotherapy when it is determined as medically necessary.

- As appropriate, make referrals to, and maintain cooperative relationships with public and voluntary agencies, programs, services and facilities

- Accurate and timely completion of progress notes, treatment plans, required case records, reports and statistics as assigned.

- Participation in weekly supervision with a planned agenda.

- Participation in required trainings

- Perform such other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

· Graduate of an Accredited School of Social Work or equivalent Master’s level degree in counseling, psychology or related field.

· Current New York State License in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling or Creative Arts Therapy

· Good writing/record keeping skills.

· Ability to navigate an Electronic Health Record.

· Ability and willingness to travel to client’s home, school, etc.

· Bilingual in Spanish and English is essential. *Not required*

· Understanding and appreciation of the roles of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual preference, and individual values as they relate to servicing clients and families.

Preferred but not required

· Ability to navigate an Electronic Health Record.
