Venue Operations Lead
Department: Weddings/Events
Reports to: Wedding Coordinators (Weddings) / Public Event Coordinator (Public Events)
Classification: Hourly, Full-time, Regular

Job Overview:

The Venue Operations Lead is responsible for leading the physical setup and teardown of weddings, public events, corporate events, and social gatherings at Landoll's Mohican Castle. This position ensures all event spaces are prepared accurately, efficiently, and according to the event specifications provided by the Wedding Coordinators and Public Event Coordinator.

The Venue Setup Lead serves as the point person for the event setup crew, assisting with banquet service as the lead server during events while maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and inventory of all event equipment and supplies. This position reports directly to the Wedding Coordinators and Public Event Coordinator and works collaboratively with the Culinary Team, and Maintenance Departments to ensure every event space is guest-ready.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead the setup and teardown of all weddings, public events, corporate events, and social functions according to event orders, floor plans, and timelines.
Direct and assist the event team to ensure event spaces are completed accurately and on schedule.
Arrange tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and other event equipment according to venue standards.
Complete final walkthroughs with the Wedding Coordinator or Public Event Coordinator to ensure event spaces are ready for guests.
Reset event spaces following each event and return equipment to designated storage areas.
Serve as the lead banquet server during weddings and events.
Assist with food and beverage service while providing excellent guest service.
Support banquet staff during meal service, transitions, and event breakdown.
Respond to setup or service needs that arise throughout an event.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all event storage areas.
Ensure tables, chairs, linens, china, flatware, glassware, and event equipment are cleaned, stored properly, and readily available.
Monitor inventory levels and notify management of damaged, missing, or low-stock items.
Assist with seasonal organization and inventory counts of event equipment.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Follow all venue safety policies and procedures.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support successful events and guest experiences.

Requirements:

Ability to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods, with occasional bending, reaching, and crouching.
Capable of lifting and moving event equipment, including tables and chairs, repetitively weighing up to 50 lbs.
Willingness to work in all weather conditions to facilitate outdoor event setups.
Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to supervise and collaborate with diverse staff.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to multitask and prioritize competing tasks effectively.
Quick problem-solving skills and adaptability to unanticipated challenges.
Commitment to upholding health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

Previous banquet, hospitality, or event setup experience preferred.
Previous bartending experience preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lead by example and work alongside a team.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
