Full Job Description

Kanzaki Specialty Papers Inc., located in Ware, MA, is a world leader in specialty coated materials and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Oji Holdings Co., Ltd., one of the largest paper companies in the world. Kanzaki has an opening for an Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager.

Job Summary

At Kanzaki, safety is more than compliance—it is a fundamental value. We are seeking a leader who will inspire, engage, and empower our workforce to achieve world-class safety performance through proactive leadership, continuous improvement, and a shared commitment to protecting our people and the environment.

This position is responsible for managing all of Kanzaki’s environmental, health, and safety programs, and reports to the Company’s President & CEO. Kanzaki’s EHS Manager is responsible for:

spearheading the development, administration, and continuous improvement of all environmental, health, and safety programs and practices throughout the company;
advising executive leadership and management on technical and regulatory issues;
consulting with all departments to ensure a safe and compliant working environment;
ensuring compliance with local, state and federal Safety regulations and requirements;
managing the EHS team, and leading the Safety Committee and Emergency Response Team;
drafting, updating, and communicating safety and environmental policies; and
driving a work culture where safety remains the absolute top priority.

The successful candidate must have:

at least a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Safety, Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, Science, or Engineering) or equivalent combination of education and experience;
5 years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing context;
experience developing and leading safety initiatives and improvements;
strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DEP and other applicable environmental and safety regulations;
ability to walk and climb stairs in a manufacturing environment;
ability to read written and computer screen data; and
ability to handle employee health and personal information with confidentiality and discretion.
