Full Job Description

The HR Generalist is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of payroll, employee benefits, retirement plans, and employee leave programs while providing comprehensive administrative support to the Human Resources department. This position ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, company policies, and payroll best practices while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.

The HR Generalist serves as the primary resource for employees regarding payroll, benefits, leave administration, and HRIS functions. This role partners closely with leadership, managers, and employees to provide exceptional customer service while supporting HR initiatives and organizational goals.

Process accurate and timely weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees, including timecards, payroll adjustments, bonuses, deductions, and final payroll review and approval
Maintain payroll records, reconcile payroll data, generate reports, and support payroll audits, year-end processing, and compliance activities
Administer employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and other benefit programs, while coordinating enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, and Open Enrollment
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, deductions, and eligibility
Administer the company's 401(k) program, including enrollments, contribution changes, loans, distributions, hardship withdrawals, and annual audit support
Coordinate employee leave administration, including FMLA and PFML, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company policies
Support onboarding by coordinating payroll setup, HRIS data entry, benefits enrollment, and new hire documentation
Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, HRIS data, compliance documentation, and HR reports within Paycom
Assist with HR audits, employee communications, policy implementation, process improvements, and day-to-day Human Resources operations
Utilize Paycom and Microsoft Office Suite to manage payroll, benefits, reporting, and employee data
Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information, stay current on payroll and employment regulations, and perform additional HR projects and responsibilities as assigned

This role can be full-time or part-time position. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits. Unfortunately, part-time employees are not eligible for benefits.

Experience

Minimum of 3 - 5 years of payroll and benefits administration experience is required
Experience processing multi-employee payroll required
Experience administering employee benefits and retirement plans preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Thorough knowledge of payroll practices and applicable federal and state wage and hour laws
Working knowledge of employee benefits administration, retirement plans, and leave administration
Strong understanding of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, and other employment-related regulations
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting strict deadlines
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
