We are seeking a Technical Publications Specialist to support the creation, maintenance, and modernization of technical documentation for complex engineering products. This role will play a key part in updating and managing a large library of legacy documentation created in Adobe FrameMaker, while supporting our transition to a Component Content Management System (CCMS), specifically Quanos Schema ST4.
Key Responsibilities:
- Modify, update, and maintain existing documentation created in Adobe FrameMaker (unstructured)
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency across product manuals and technical documents
- Support migration of legacy content into Schema ST4 and assist in adopting structured authoring practices
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and service teams to gather and validate technical information
- Apply content reuse strategies and improve documentation efficiency during CCMS transition
- Maintain version control and documentation standards across multiple product lines
Experience Level Mid-level / Professional (2-5 years' experience):
- Produces well-structured technical papers, white papers, or manuals
- Adapts tone and depth for different audiences (developers, users, executives)
- Conducts research and interviews SMEs independently
- Familiar with style guides and documentation standards
- Uses advanced tools (version control, documentation platforms)

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in professional writing, Technical Field or Engineering
- A minimum 2 years of experience
- Proven experience with Adobe FrameMaker (unstructured authoring)
- Background in technical documentation for engineering, manufacturing, or industrial products
- Strong ability to interpret complex technical information and translate it into clear documentation
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (engineering, QA, product management)
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and document control practices
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Schema ST4 or other CCMS platforms (e.g., MadCap IXIA, Paligo, Tridion Docs, Vasont)
- Familiarity with structured authoring concepts (DITA/XML), even if not previously used in production
- Experience with content migration, modular documentation, or reuse strategies
- Knowledge of localization/translation workflows is a plus
