Position Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Certified Assessor to join our growing team. This position is responsible for supporting Stehrling clients in meeting the stringent cybersecurity standards of the Department of Defense (DoD).

As a CCA, you will act as the technical CMMC subject matter expert (SME) while working with clients on advising, preparation services, and assessment compliance activities. You'll provide supplementary leadership to support the growth and scale of our CMMC and broader Cybersecurity Compliance teams.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive gap assessments of Defense Industrial Base (DIB) organizational networks and systems to identify deficiencies against CMMC level requirements
Consult with organizations on remediation requirements to meet NIST security controls/objectives in line with CMMC standards
Coordinate with various teams to develop and implement action plans necessary to achieve CMMC compliance
Review and update existing security policies and procedures to align with evolving CMMC requirements and cybersecurity best practices
Prepare detailed reports on organizational CMMC compliance status
Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and updates to the CMMC framework
Achieve utilization targets, complete projects on time and within budget, and meet quality standards
Continuously improve scalable consulting service processes while maintaining high customer satisfaction
Prepare and deliver professional presentations to customers and internal stakeholders
Lead teams of internal and external stakeholders to drive security projects forward
Identify and manage client engagement risks and issues
Work in coordination with Stehrling CMMC Practice Director

Required Qualifications

Experience in conducting client workshops to development and document data flows.
Experience with defining system boundaries (physical and logical)
Experience with reviewing and updating security policies and procedures.
Experience with development of CUI and FCI marking and handling guidelines.
Active CMMC Certified Assessor (CCA) or CCP certification
Strong understanding of NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-172, and CMMC framework
Experience conducting cybersecurity assessments in Defense Industrial Base environments
Proven ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills
Ability to quickly develop trusting relationships with compliance professionals and senior executives

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with C3PAO or CMMC assessment activities
Additional cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CISA, CEH, Security+, etc.)
Experience with GRC platforms and assessment tools
Background in Department of Defense contracting environment
