Join the Panhandle Landworks Team!
We're hiring a dependable, honest, and hardworking Gardening Technician to join our Landscape Maintenance Team. This hands-on role focuses primarily on weeding and garden maintenance and is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, loves plants, and takes pride in detailed work.
We're looking for someone interested in growing with our company long-term. Training is intentionally gradual so you can learn our systems without feeling overwhelmed, with opportunities to grow into greater responsibility over time.
Primary Responsibilities
- Remove weeds from driveways, gravel areas, rock beds, barked areas, sidewalks, and similar surfaces. This is the primary function of the position, as it's the most noticeable and prevalent part of garden maintenance.
- Remove unsightly leaves, suckers, trash, and other debris that improve the overall appearance of the property without moving or handling customers' personal property (for example, tree branches blocking walkways).
- Assist with larger weeding, pruning, seasonal cleanups, and other landscape maintenance projects when additional help or cleanup is needed.
- Retain written records of completed work, tasks still needed, and any areas of concern for each property.
Professional Expectations
- Represent Panhandle Landworks professionally by being punctual, honest, respectful, and appropriately dressed while working on clients' properties. Our customers trust us when we are on their property, and we want to earn and maintain that trust.
- Maintain clean, neat, and professional-looking outdoor spaces that help our clients enjoy their properties.
- Perform work efficiently with attention to detail by prioritizing the most noticeable, high-traffic areas before moving to lower-traffic areas.
Physical & Outdoor Work Requirements
- This is a physically demanding position that includes repeated lifting of 30+ lbs., kneeling, crouching, bending, walking, raking, pinching, overhead lifting, and working on uneven surfaces.
- We work year-round in rain, snow, sleet, hail, heat, wind, and other outdoor conditions. Expect to get dirty, work around insects, rip gloves or pants, and encounter thorny plants.
Schedule & Pay
- Up to 15–20 hours per week (maximum 20 hours during the first season)
- $15.00–$18.00 per hour starting wage
- Monday through Thursday work schedule
- Potential for a 12-month salaried position after a minimum of six months of employment
- Vehicle fuel reimbursement after a minimum of three months of employment
- Gas stipend during the first three months
What We're Looking For
- Must love plants, weeding, and repetitive or routine tasks
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation (personal vehicle required)
- Punctual, professional, dependable, and honest
- Able to work independently and stay focused once trained
- Must pass a background check and/or drug test
Position Details
- Primary focus is weeding and garden maintenance
- Secondary focus is assisting the Garden Maintenance Supervisor on larger pruning and weeding projects
- Third focus is assisting with Fall and Spring cleanups
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after training

Perks of Joining the Panhandle Landworks Team
- Uniforms provided (T-shirts, sun shirts, hats, rain gear, and sweatshirts; pants not included)
- All standard PPE provided, including sunscreen, safety glasses, first aid kit, ear plugs, and a water bottle
