Sterling Pharmacy in Worthington, MN is part of Astrup Companies - an innovative, growing, family-owned and locally grown business. We have a rich, 70+ year history, with companies servicing every aspect of the pharmacy industry. As an employee of Sterling Pharmacy, you can expect to be treated with care and respect.

Looking for a Full-time (~40 hours/week) candidate!
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday: 8:30 am - 6:00 pm, Saturday: 9:00am - 3:00pm.
This position would be a Monday - Friday position, with occasional Saturday shifts with competitive wages.

Willing to train for non-experienced applicants!

Qualifications:

Required:

o High School Diploma or GED

o Basic computer skills

o Excellent customer service skills

Preferred:

o Pharmacy or medical related background

o Certification as a Pharmacy Technician

Job Description: The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for assisting the pharmacists(s) with various tasks related to the filling/dispensing of prescriptions and caring for pharmacy patients/customers.

Core Competencies & Responsibilities:

Complete necessary pharmacy technician training in a timely fashion
Complete required continuing education annually
Review patient information on the Pioneer system for accuracy
Receive new prescriptions physically from patients
Accept prescription refill authorizations via the telephone or fax
Answer telephone in three rings
Adhere to policies and procedures related to pharmacy operations
Stay compliant with all statutes, rules, and regulations related to pharmacy practice, both federal and state
Monitor reimbursement of prescriptions to achieve optimal gross profit margins
Help manage inventory levels to achieve optimal return on investment
Represent yourself professionally to the community as a Pharmacy Technician
Collect all information needed for billing Medicaid and Medicare for DME, supplies
Help ensure that patients are counseled on all new prescriptions and on any refill
Be aware of and support promotional activity within the pharmacy and Home Health Care category
Provide the best possible service to all of our customers
Accurately count and fill prescriptions for all patients
Provide accurate/timely service to customers at the point of sale
Collaborate with team members to ensure everyone is capable of fulfilling all pharmacy related tasks and training other employee
Create a culture of positivity and excitement in the pharmacy/store
Adapt quickly to company changes related to policy and workflow
Clean work area and the pharmacy
Complete other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements & Work Demands:

This position requires repetitive lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling for up to 15 pounds on a regular basis daily
Must be able to stand, walk, crouch, stoop, kneel, bend and twist for up to 8 hours per day

Working Environment:

This position will be working in a pharmacy setting and normal climate and temperature.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
