Full Job Description

Paralegal / Claims Processor

Pay: $22–$24 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Location: In person at our Lander office

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Paralegal/Claims Processor to assist clients throughout the claims process. This position involves gathering client information, preparing claim documents, communicating with government agencies, and helping clients understand each stage of their claim.

This is a meaningful opportunity to provide valuable support to elderly individuals who need assistance navigating complex claims processes.

Primary Responsibilities

Interview clients to obtain basic health, employment, and work-history information
Accurately prepare and complete claim forms
Communicate with government agencies regarding claim status and documentation requirements
Explain the claims process to clients in a clear, patient, and professional manner
Draft professional letters and respond to written requests for information
Manage a high volume of telephone calls, claims, and administrative tasks
Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential client records
Independently prioritize assignments and complete tasks within required deadlines

Required Qualifications

Associate degree
Previous clerical or administrative experience
Customer service experience
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Excellent telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to manage a high-volume workload and telephone call volume
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
General computer literacy

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with medical records
Previous legal, claims-processing, healthcare, or government-agency experience

The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, professional, compassionate, and comfortable assisting elderly clients by phone and in person.
