Full Job Description

Data Center Technician (IT Operations)

We are seeking motivated and hands-on Data Center Technicians to join a high-performing team supporting critical infrastructure environments. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical setting where precision, problem-solving, and teamwork are essential.

As a Data Center Technician, you will play a key role in deploying, maintaining, and optimizing data center hardware and network systems that power large-scale operations.

What You’ll Do

Prepare, stage, set up, and support startup/shutdown activities for data center hardware including racks, servers, hard drives, and network switches
Execute tasks following detailed procedures, checklists, and deployment standards
Perform quality assurance checks to ensure proper grounding, labeling, cabling, and overall installation accuracy
Troubleshoot hardware and network issues, identify root causes, and replace faulty components
Support hardware decommissioning activities including upgrades, refreshes, and rebuilds
Document work, track progress, and escalate issues to technical leads as needed
Maintain a strong focus on safety, compliance, and operational excellence

What We’re Looking For

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
1+ year of experience in data center environments (rack & stack, cabling, deployments, or decommissioning)
Basic knowledge of server hardware, infrastructure components, and networking
Experience with structured cabling and low voltage installations
Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to follow technical procedures

Required Certification

TLV-G (Low Voltage General Technician) License, issued by the Department of Fire Prevention and Electrical Safety
- Candidates must currently hold this license or be able to obtain it in a short timeframe

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in large-scale or enterprise data center environments
Prior exposure to hyperscale or cloud infrastructure operations
Flexibility to support a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.
