Great American's Embedded Solutions group is a newly established team focused on launching innovative insurance products such as Travel, Tenant Homeowners, Ticket, and Cargo in partnership with third-party program administrators.
Great American Insurance Group is seeking a Travel Insurance Program Manager. This individual will have profit & loss responsibility for the Great American’s new travel insurance offering. The candidate will manage distribution partnerships, further develop product offerings, underwrite accounts, and collaborate with IT for any technological needs.
Remote applicants may be considered if not local to our Cincinnati office. Candidates local to Cincinnati will work on a hybrid schedule. Great American’s culture is built on connection, shared learning, and strong relationships. To support this, employees in this role are expected to be onsite four days a week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely. Core in‑office days are Tuesday–Thursday, with the fourth day determined by business needs.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Participates in developing new products and/or solutions to enhance premium volume growth and ensures the competitiveness and profitability of existing products.

Conducts market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape.

Collaborates with underwriting, actuarial, and claims teams to assist in designing innovative insurance solutions and developing product specifications, pricing strategies, and policy language.

Analyzes market data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product enhancements and improvements and new product development.

Participates in developing and executing product strategies and roadmaps to achieve business goals. Participates in conducting SWOT analysis to evaluate product strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

Participates in developing product and rate revisions, underwriting guidelines, manuals, and procedures.

Works with marketing, business development, and insurance operations teams to ensure successful product launches and ongoing product support.

May participate in developing and presenting trainings regarding new products and product changes to internal teams and agents.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience.

Experience: Generally, a minimum of 3 years of related underwriting or product experience. Beginning or continuing progress toward a professional designation preferred, such as Associate in Underwriting (AU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Program in General Insurance (INS), Associate of Risk Management (ARM), Certified Licensing Professional (CLP) or other applicable designations.

Scope of Job/Qualifications: Strong technical knowledge of insurance products and lines of business. Develops and maintains knowledge of industry laws and regulations. Proficiency in interpreting competitive data and industry trends. Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform decisions. Demonstrated decision-making ability and customer-centric mindset. Demonstrates strong communication skills and ability to build relationships. Position may require occasional travel.
