Full Job Description

Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Summary:

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining various types of machinery in a manufacturing setting. This includes CNC mills, lathes, press brakes, laser cutting machines, and waterjet cutting machines. The role involves ensuring that equipment runs efficiently, producing high-quality products, and adhering to safety standards.

While we prefer candidates with relevant experience, we are also open to hiring individuals who demonstrate a great attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and grow within our company.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate Machinery: Set up, operate, and maintain press brakes, bandsaws laser cutting machines, CNC mills, lathes, and waterjet cutting machines in accordance with company standards and safety guidelines.

- Monitor Production: Continuously monitor machine operation to ensure quality and productivity. Make adjustments as needed to maintain optimal performance.

- Quality Control: Inspect products to ensure they meet specifications. Identify and report any defects or issues.

- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and minor repairs. Report major maintenance needs to the maintenance department.

- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Report any safety hazards to the supervisor.

- Documentation: Accurately complete production logs, maintenance records, and other required documentation.

- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure smooth production flow and resolve any issues that arise.

- Training:Assist in the training of new machine operators as needed.

Qualifications:

- Experience: Previous experience operating bandsaws, press brakes, laser cutting machines, CNC mills, lathes, or waterjet cutting machines in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

- Skills:

Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting bandsaws, CNC mills, lathes, press brakes, CNC mills, lathes, laser cutting machines, and waterjet cutting machines.
Strong attention to detail and quality control.
Basic mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Basic math skills for measuring and calibrating.

Work Environment:

- Exposure to loud noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

- Use of protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, footwear, and hearing protection.
