Medical Office Assistant

Valley Dermatology – Yakima, WA

Valley Dermatology is seeking a professional, dependable, and patient-focused Medical Office Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, communicates well, and can stay organized and composed in a busy medical office environment.

Our goal is to provide an excellent patient experience from the first phone call through each visit to our office.

Position Overview

The Medical Office Assistant is an important part of our front-office team and helps ensure that daily operations run efficiently. This position involves frequent interaction with patients, families, providers, and staff.

The ideal candidate is friendly, confident, detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to maintain a professional demeanor while managing multiple responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Answer and manage multi-line telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner
Accurately take and relay patient messages
Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments
Greet and assist patients and families upon arrival
Verify insurance coverage and patient demographic information
Accurately enter and maintain patient information in the medical record system
Perform general medical reception and administrative duties
Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and other members of the healthcare team
Assist with front-office workflow and support the clinical team as needed
Maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of medical office and healthcare experience required
Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software
Experience working with multi-line telephone systems preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Dependable, punctual, and professional
Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Schedule

Full-time position
Four 10-hour shifts
Monday through Thursday

Location

Yakima, Washington

Applicants must reside in the Yakima area or be able to reliably commute to our office for all scheduled shifts.
