The Math Coordinator supports mathematics teaching and learning across the ESD 105 region by providing leadership, consultation, and professional learning aligned with state standards and current research in mathematics education. The coordinator collaborates with districts, educators, and regional partners to strengthen instructional practices, support implementation of mathematics standards, and promote continuous improvement in mathematics instruction and student learning. This role designs and facilitates professional learning, provides technical assistance to district leaders and educators, and supports regional collaboration to advance high-quality mathematics education.
Provide regional leadership for mathematics education by coordinating initiatives, collaborating with districts and state partners, and supporting the implementation of mathematics standards and instructional improvement efforts.
Design and deliver professional learning, resources, and instructional support that strengthen educator capacity in mathematic teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
Build and sustain collaborative partnerships with educators, district leaders, and regional stakeholders to support high-quality mathematics instruction and shared learning across districts.
Provide consultation, coaching, and technical assistance to districts in response to emerging mathematics education needs and priorities across the region.
Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of regional mathematics initiatives through collaboration, data use, and alignment with state and regional priorities.
Knowledge of:
Knowledge of mathematics education practices, including conceptual understanding, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning, aligned with Washington State Learning Standards.
Knowledge of adult learning principles and effective professional learning design.
Knowledge of state learning standards, assessment systems, and instructional improvement practices.
Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional materials that support mathematics teaching and learning.
Knowledge of continuous improvement processes and data-informed decision-making.
Skill in:
Skill in designing and facilitating professional learning for educators and instructional leaders.
Skill in analyzing instructional and assessment data to guide mathematics improvement efforts.
Skill in coaching educators and leaders to strengthen mathematics instructional practices.
Skill in planning and coordinating regional initiatives and collaborative projects.
Skill in written communication, including reports, presentations, and technical guidance.
Ability To:

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mathamatics, Education or related field.
Experience:
Successful experience teaching school mathematics K-12
Demonstrated experience teaching curricula and/or assessment courses in mathematics
Certifications/ Licenses:
Background Requirements:
Successful completion of a Washington State Patrol WATCH check is required. A fingerprint-based background check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI in accordance with OSPI and district policy.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Mathamatics, Education or related field.
Experience leading Mathamatic initiatives at the school, district, or regional level.
Experience supporting equitable instructional practices and reducing opportunity gaps for diverse student populations.
Experience designing and delivering professional learning for educators or coaching instructional staff.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a variety of settings, including ESD offices, school districts, classrooms, and training environments across the region. The role involves frequent collaboration with educators, administrators, and partners through meetings, coaching, and professional learning sessions.
The work environment may include periods of moderate to high activity and noise during trainings or school-based support and requires flexibility to adapt to different settings and schedules.

Sitting for extended periods; using a computer for typing, viewing screens, and virtual communication.
Visual and auditory attention to support facilitation, instructional discussions, and partner engagement in varied environments.

Repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements associated with keyboarding and use of office technology
