Status: Full Time, In Person
Reports To: Program Director

Annual Salary: $54,000 - $58,000, commensurate with education and experience.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8 AM – 5 PM, including Evenings and Weekends as needed.

The Mosholu Montefiore Community Center (MMCC) is a vital community resource that changes the course of lives of Bronx and Manhattan residents (now adding Queens) to a degree not otherwise possible. Each year, we serve more than 40,000 preschoolers, school-age children, teens, adults, and senior citizens through our support, enrichment, education, and recreation programs, expanding their opportunities to live full, productive lives.

Position Summary:

MMCC is currently seeking a Full-Time Community Liaison to join our Family Enrichment Center (FEC). This individual will be responsible for building and strengthening relationships with community partners, increasing engagement, and connecting residents to vital resources and services that support their well-being, all while working closely with the Director of the Center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in community organizing and partnership development, and a passion for enhancing access to services within the local community. The Community Liaison leads external outreach to promote equitable awareness of, and access to, the FEC, particularly seeking to reach new families who may be isolated or disconnected from support. They also lead outreach and ongoing management of relationships with external community partners and resources.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement strategic external outreach to families, community members, and community entities using community data, local knowledge, and feedback from community members.
Continuously assess and adapt outreach strategies to reach new and under-connected parents and caregivers.
Represent the Family Enrichment Center (FEC) at community events and venues.
Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, schools, local coalitions, and other institutions to strengthen trust, collaboration, and visibility.
Develop and distribute accessible, inclusive outreach materials in multiple languages using culturally affirming messages to promote the FEC and increase participation among diverse families.
Ensure that outreach and engagement practices reflect the FEC’s core values of equity, inclusiveness, and co-design.
Support the Family Advocate and FEC’s ability to connect individual caregivers and families to local resources, services, and other supports.
Communicate information about FEC Offerings and events to the community through various channels (e.g., FEC website, newsletters, social media, flyers).
Facilitate and co-design Offerings and other FEC activities with families, using Appreciative Inquiry and other strength-based tools.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree AND three (3) years of professional experience; OR
High school diploma AND five (5) years of professional experience in community-driven-programs with children, youth, and families.
Knowledge of, lived experience in, and commitment to the Morris Park//Pelham Parkway community.
Strong interpersonal, community organizing, and advocacy skills.
Availability for occasional evenings or weekends.
Being multilingual with the ability to understand Spanish and/or Albanian and/or Arabic is a plus.
