Sagamore Golf, Inc. / Full Charge Bookkeeper
Position Summary: The Full Charge Bookkeeper is responsible for managing all day-to-day accounting functions of the organization, maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, preparing financial reports, and supporting management with financial analysis and budgeting. This position handles the complete accounting cycle through financial statement preparation and works closely with management, external accountants, vendors, and employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
- Record and reconcile all financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage bank, credit card, and loan account reconciliations.
- Monitor cash flow and maintain cash management reports.
- Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
Accounts Payable
- Review, enter, and process vendor invoices.
- Prepare and issue vendor payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements.
- Maintain vendor files and W-9 documentation.
- Monitor outstanding payables and cash requirements.
Accounts Receivable
- Record all credit card and cash sales in QuickBooks.
- Reconcile golf, food & beverage, driving range, function, and retail sales.
Payroll Administration
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Maintain employee payroll records.
- Process payroll tax filings and deductions.
- Coordinate benefits deductions and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Manage seasonal staffing fluctuations & related payroll activity.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare monthly financial packages for management.
- Assist in year-end closings and external audits.
- Support tax preparation by outside accountants.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Prepare sales tax and other regulatory filings as required.
- Maintain various business licenses, annual filings/renewals, Profit sharing annual census, and other requirements of profit sharing plan,
- Annual 1099 filing
Internal Controls & Administration
- Develop and maintain accounting procedures.
- Safeguard confidential financial information.
- Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.
- Assist with special projects and financial analysis.
- Support management decision-making with timely reporting.
Human Resources, Benefit & Business Insurance
- Manage employee benefit enrollment.
- Periodically review & provide compensation packages for full time staff.
- Manage relationships with benefit providers.
- Maintain business insurance policies.
- Work with ownership on competitive bidding of benefit and business insurance packages annually.
Qualifications/Education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent bookkeeping experience may be considered.
Experience
- 5+ years of full-charge bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Experience managing the complete accounting cycle.
- Experience with payroll processing.
- Experience with financial statement preparation.
- Experience in multi-entity operations preferred.
- Experience with golf management software & multi location accounting systems preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, or comparable accounting software.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment.
- Reporting Relationship
Reports to: President and/or owners.

- Competitive salary based on experience.
