Adjunct Professor of Computer Science

Young Harris College

Young Harris College invites applications for an adjunct professor of Computer Science position beginning August 1, 2026. The successful candidate will have earned at least a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology(IT), Information Systems(IS), or a related degree. Strong commitment to teaching in a liberal arts undergraduate curriculum is required. Candidate must be comfortable with technology and experience with Moodle is a plus.

Duties will primarily include teaching CSCI 1100: Introduction to Personal Computing. This is an introductory course that describes how computers are applied to solving problems in our information-oriented society. Included is a study of fundamental hardware, operating systems, networking, computer privacy and security, and the social, economic, and legal impact of information systems. Standard business-based software packages (MS Office) are used by students to solve a variety of problems. This course is required for many of our science majors who use Excel in their coursework and is also an elective for a diverse set of students across campus.

Applications should include a two-page cover letter that includes teaching experience and philosophy, a CV, transcripts and contact information for three references. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Selected candidates must successfully pass a background check.
