About Savannah Joe’s

At Savannah Joe’s, the demand for our food is outpacing our current operating hours. Our kitchen is known for high-volume, high-quality Southern and Low Country cuisine—from our signature Soul Bowls to our oxtails, rib tips, and other customer favorites.

Currently, we are operating on a four-day schedule, not because of a lack of customers, but because we need the right leadership to build and sustain a full-time, reliable team. That is where you come in.

The Opportunity

This is not a typical restaurant management position.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who is ready to take ownership of the day-to-day operations of a growing restaurant. We need someone who can build and develop a strong team, create operational consistency, and help us expand from four operating days to five—and ultimately six days per week.

This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on the growth and success of Savannah Joe’s. The individual who helps us strengthen our flagship location will be positioned for future leadership opportunities as the company continues to grow, including planned expansion into additional markets.

What You Will Do During Your First 90 Days

Recruit & Retain

Take ownership of hiring and recruiting efforts.
Build a positive workplace culture focused on accountability and teamwork.
Reduce turnover through effective training, communication, and leadership.

Systemize Operations

Implement clear and repeatable operating procedures.
Develop and maintain training materials, checklists, and performance standards.
Ensure consistency in food quality, customer service, cleanliness, and execution.

Scale the Schedule

Successfully build and maintain staffing levels needed to expand operating days.
Support the transition from four operating days to a sustainable five- and six-day schedule.

Drive Profitability

Monitor labor costs, food costs, and inventory usage.
Minimize waste and improve operational efficiency.
Support revenue growth through catering, special events, and delivery platforms.

Ongoing Responsibilities

Operations Management

Oversee all day-to-day restaurant operations.
Ensure exceptional guest experiences and maintain service standards.
Maintain compliance with health, safety, and food service regulations.
Resolve customer concerns and operational challenges professionally and promptly.

Team Leadership & Human Resources

Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train employees.
Create and manage employee schedules.
Provide coaching, performance management, and employee development.
Conduct evaluations and implement corrective action when necessary.
Foster a positive, professional, and productive work environment.

Payroll & Administrative Duties

Process and submit payroll information accurately and on time.
Maintain employee records and personnel documentation.
Monitor labor costs and staffing efficiency.
Assist with employment-related compliance and documentation as needed.

Inventory & Vendor Management

Manage inventory levels and ordering processes.
Maintain vendor and supplier relationships.
Conduct inventory counts and monitor product usage.
Ensure proper cost controls are maintained.

Financial Performance

Assist ownership in achieving sales and profitability goals.
Monitor key operational metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
Support marketing campaigns, promotions, catering initiatives, and community events.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of restaurant management experience preferred.
Experience managing both front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
Proven success in hiring, scheduling, training, and team development.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience managing labor costs, food costs, and inventory.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Reliable transportation and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $50,000 – $55,000 annually
Performance-Based Bonus Program
Quarterly bonus opportunities based on operational performance.
Incentives tied to sales growth, labor management, food cost control, customer satisfaction, and team retention.
Additional growth incentives tied to business expansion initiatives.
