Overview
We’re looking for a dependable, hardworking Carpenter’s Helper / Apprentice to join our small, owner-operated remodeling business!
For the past 6 years, we’ve built a strong reputation through quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and excellent relationships with our established clientele.
You’ll work directly alongside the owner on primarily bathroom and kitchen remodels, with opportunities to gain hands-on experience across many areas of residential remodeling.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the owner on active remodeling projects
- Completing assigned carpentry tasks independently
- Preparing work areas
- Demolition and removal
- Framing
- Drywall
- Trim and finish carpentry
- Door/window installation
- Flooring
- Cabinet installation
- Material handling
- Jobsite cleanup
- Loading/unloading tools and materials
Requirements
Must-have:
- Basic carpentry knowledge (6 months - 1 year experience)
- Ability to accurately measure and use hand/power tools
- Ability to read basic plans or project instructions
- Ability to work safely
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work independently when given direction
- Respectful and Appropriate communication with customers, owner and team members
- Dependability and punctuality
Nice-to-have:
- Cabinet installation
- Tile (BIG PLUS)
- Drywall finishing
- Flooring
- Painting
- Plumbing/electrical familiarity
- Experience with older homes
- Experience solving unexpected jobsite problems
Physical/jobsite requirements
- Standing for extended periods
- Lifting/carrying materials
- Climbing ladders
- Working in unfinished spaces
- Kneeling/bending
- Indoor/outdoor work
- Dust/noise
- Working around construction debris
- Ability to lift a specified weight, if necessary

Schedule
- Initially Part-time (10-25 hours per week) with opportunity to progress to Full-Time
- Monday - Friday Availability
- 8:30am - 4pm (varies)
- Expected Start Date: October 1st
- Schedule varies by project
- No evenings/weekends required unless desired (open for discussion)
- Major Holidays off
