About Us

We are seeking an experienced and organized Dietary Manager to lead our dietary department and ensure the delivery of high-quality nutritional services in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Position Summary

The Dietary Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and supervising the daily operations of the dietary department. This position ensures residents receive nutritious, appetizing meals that meet their dietary needs while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations and facility policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manage the daily operations of the dietary department, including food preparation, service, sanitation, and inventory control.
Ensure residents receive meals and snacks in accordance with physician orders, dietary requirements, and individual preferences.
Coordinate menu planning in collaboration with the Registered Dietitian.
Order food, supplies, and equipment to maintain appropriate inventory levels and prevent shortages.
Monitor food costs and department budgets.
Ensure tray tickets are accurate, updated, and distributed timely to support meal service.
Maintain and post daily menus for residents and staff.
Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate dietary department employees.
Conduct routine inspections to ensure food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards are met.
Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, state regulations, and facility policies.
Participate in resident care conferences, Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities, and survey readiness efforts.
Respond promptly to emails, requests, concerns, and operational issues.
Maintain records and documentation required by regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential preferred or ability to obtain certification as required by state regulations.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in nutrition, food service management, or related field preferred.
Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in food service, preferably in a long-term care or healthcare setting.
Knowledge of therapeutic diets, food safety regulations, and long-term care requirements.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Proficiency with computer systems, email communication, and dietary management software.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in kitchen environments with varying temperatures.
Ability to perform routine inspections and oversee food service operations.
