Full Job Description

<Overview>
Join our dynamic finance team as a Managerial Accountant, where you will play a pivotal role in driving financial excellence and strategic decision-making. This energetic position offers the opportunity to lead complex accounting functions and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This position will support project and operational accounting functions and staff with a focus on job cost tracking, variance analysis, and financial reporting. As a key contributor, you will utilize your technical expertise to interpret financial data, prepare detailed reports, and support the organization’s financial health and growth objectives. This position offers a standard weekly schedule with strong leadership support and long-term growth potential within a stable organization.

<Responsibilities>

Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards.
Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing processes using accounting software Sage and QuickBooks.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of accounts receivable and accounts payable records.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts to optimize cash flow management and financial performance.
Collaborate on regulatory reporting requirements including tax filings and other statutory obligations.
Support Operational Managers with project costing and report by tracking and analyzing job costs and preparing cost reports, variance analyses and project profitability review.
Assist with WIP schedules, revenue recognition and project close-outs.

<Experience and Qualifications>

Proven experience in corporate accounting with a strong foundation in financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and accrual accounting.
Demonstrated expertise in financial software platforms including QuickBooks and Sage.
In-depth knowledge of GAAP standards along with experience in technical accounting areas.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and job costs data for effective decision-making.
Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and report creation; experience with other financial tools or financial software is advantageous.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
5+ years of cost or project accounting experience with construction industry experience highly desired.
Ability to communicate and collaborate well with operational teams and accounting staff
