Retail Point of Sale Tech Support

We've been in business for over 15 years providing services in ERP, Retail POS, Business Application Integrations, Data Warehousing, Custom Software Development, Security, Hosting Solutions, and Professional IT Services and Support. We are looking to add a member to our team who enjoys a challenge and possesses a strong foundation in a wide range of applications, hardware, and software support.
This is a full-time position for candidates with experience supporting Retail Technologies like LOC SMS, NCR ISS45, ECRS, NCR ScanMaster, and NCR ENCORE POS environments, with an emphasis on networking along with desktop and server O/S. Toshiba, NCR, HP, Datalogic, and VeriFone hardware knowledge is preferred.
Superior customer service skills are required. You'll be making recommendations to clients, monitoring and responding to HelpDesk calls and emails, and performing hands-on work including installing and upgrading software, configuring hardware, and setting up systems and applications. Applicants must be professional in appearance and demeanor, and communicate confidently and clearly over the phone, in person, and through email. You must be able to work independently and as part of a team, explain solutions to non-technical people, and manage your time well.
What You'll Do
- Respond to and resolve HelpDesk tickets and client calls in a timely manner
- Perform on-site and remote support for retail POS and related technology systems
- Install, configure, and upgrade hardware and software at client locations
- Document all work thoroughly and communicate clearly with clients and teammates
- Travel to client sites as needed — positions available in San Diego; some travel outside the area required
Required Skills
- Extensive experience with all versions of Windows desktops
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Office 365
- Experience working within a PSA or ticketing platform (Halo, ConnectWise, Autotask, or similar) for logging, tracking, and managing support request,
- Ability to quickly learn new software and hardware systems
- Ability to work effectively both within a team and independently
- Knowledge and experience with networking tools and tasks
- Network printer setup and configuration experience
- Strong time management skills and a consistent track record of meeting deadlines and commitments
- Punctual with a positive attitude
- Willing to go the extra mile to satisfy the client and support the team
Preferred Skills
- Scripting experience (SQL and PowerShell)
- Experience with one or more of the following retail technologies: LOC SMS, NCR ISS45, ECRS, NCR ScanMaster, NCR ENCORE
Availability & Requirements
This is a primarily remote position — roughly 70% of the work is handled from home. That said, onsite visits for client support and install projects are a regular part of the role, so candidates should be located in or near one of our primary markets: Southern California, Las Vegas, Arizona, or Washington. Travel outside your home market will be required on occasion and is fully covered by the company. You'll be expected to work with a high level of attention to detail, log your work thoroughly, and operate with minimal supervision.
