Full Job Description

Traveling Medical Receptionist/Front Desk Position:

First Settlement Physical Therapy is a family owned physical therapy business that is growing and has established around 50 locations in the Ohio and West Virginia area. We are seeking a candidate who is willing to travel daily up to 1.5 hours from Cambridge to cover our clinics when their office managers are off. We offer mileage reimbursement for drives over 30 miles each way. Please visit FSPT.org to see where our locations are. The selected candidate will be responsible to perform all functions needed for daily operations in the clinic.

Essential Functions:

Serves patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.
Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, and answering or referring inquiries.
Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
Obtain and track authorizations through patients' insurance
Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
Comforts patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties, answering patients’ questions, and maintaining the reception area.
Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information, recording and collecting patient charges, controlling credit extended to patients.
Helps clean, maintain clinic, and do laundry as needed
Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies, and scheduling equipment service and repairs.
Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed

Education Requirements:

· High School Diploma/GED

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated and organized professional
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
High level of integrity and ethics
Ability to type at minimum of 40 words per minute
Must have reliable transportation and clean driving record to be able to travel daily
