The Lathe Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining manual lathes to produce high-quality pipe and piping components. This role ensures products meet quality standards while supporting safe, efficient production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

Set up and operate manual lathes to machine pipe and piping components.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to ensure quality and accuracy.
Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools.
Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment issues.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following OSHA and company safety standards.
Accurately document production activities and completed work.
Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules and customer expectations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Previous experience operating manual lathes or similar machining equipment preferred.
Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and precision measuring tools.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine machine maintenance.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs. and work in a manufacturing environment.

Regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands to operate machinery and handle materials.
Frequently lift and move up to 75 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 100 lbs.
Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery and moderate to loud noise.
Perform work indoors with occasional outdoor tasks.
Maintain awareness of surroundings and follow all safety procedures and OSHA standards.
