Description

Position Purpose:

Responsible for performing advanced, specialized duties ensuring the data integrity of the district’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS) while comprehensively coordinating district benefits, retirements, and medical leaves. The HR Data & Benefits Coordinator will also compile, track, and analyze various HR metrics/data points to provide HR data driven insights to HR Leadership. This position analyzes personnel workflows to guarantee accuracy and efficiency across the employee lifecycle while maintaining strict compliance with state and federal leave laws.

Education and Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, OR a minimum of 5 years of related work experience combined with a high school diploma.

Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience working in a Human Resources office with a strong emphasis on data management, database creation, and HRIS systems usage. Experience working with Tyler

Munis Enterprise is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Communication: Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills for professional communication across all organizational levels.

Data & Accuracy: Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving capabilities, and proven ability to evaluate medical documentation and complex personnel files.

Discretion: Proven ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential data with strict professional discretion.

Time Management: Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet strict deadlines within a fast-paced environment.

Professionalism: Highly adaptable to changing processes while maintaining high standards of professional conduct, attendance, and customer service.

Systems Knowledge: Required proficiency in software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel (advanced), PowerPoint, Google Apps, Adobe Acrobat and Tyler Munis.

Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of ADA, State and Federal FMLA laws, and the Wisconsin

Retirement Pension System.

Essential Functions

1. HR Data Analysis & System Maintenance

Verify employee data is accurately set up, maintained, and updated across the District's HRIS network, Tyler Munis.

Run frequent data audits and reports to analyze system health and correct anomalies.

Verify the accuracy of personnel transactions and employee changes.

Compile HR metrics from a variety of sources including but not limited to the district’s HRIS, employee surveys, and comparable data from surrounding school districts.

Analyze HR data/metrics and provide reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer.

2. Leave Administration & Compliance

Coordinate and track all aspects of State and Federal Family Medical Leave (FMLA) and RUSD Medical Leaves.

Evaluate medical documentations, physical capability standards, and work-relatedness to make independent recommendations.

Coordinate short-term and long-term disability plans through continuous contact with employees, medical personnel, insurance companies, and Social Security.

Coordinate follow-ups for extensions, medical returns, and tracking paperwork.

3. Benefits & Retirement Coordination

Provide clear information to employees regarding medical, dental, vision, FSA, HRA, disability, and life insurance benefits.

Guide employees through retirement or resignation workflows, providing critical data on transitioning to Medicare or the Wisconsin Retirement Pension System.

Assist with onboarding, open enrollment presentations, and benefit orientations.

Perform other duties as assigned to support the Office of Human Resources.

Physical Demands:

Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods, up to six hours in an eight-hour day.

Ability to perform light physical work, occasionally lifting up to ten pounds without assistance in an indoor setting.

Ability to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person to provide information and assistance.

Dexterity and hand/eye coordination necessary to operate computer keyboard and other office equipment such as fax machine, copier, etc.

Hearing ability adequate to participate in numerous conversations throughout the day, both in person and over the telephone.

Ability to maintain concentration and focus on tasks requiring timeliness and accuracy.

Work Environment:

Busy, often fast-paced professional office environment.

Multiple priorities with frequent interruptions.
