Full Job Description

We are seeking a results-driven and innovative Executive Chef to lead the culinary operations of a premier upscale New American restaurant in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This is an exceptional opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who balances operational efficiency with a genuine passion for the guest experience.

o Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and taste

o Oversee food preparation, plating, and portion control

o Lead daily back-of-house operations, including prep, service, and sanitation

o Establish and enforce kitchen procedures, recipes, and standards

o Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations

o Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment Team

o Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and mentor kitchen staff

o Set performance expectations and foster a culture of accountability and teamwork

o Promote a positive, professional, and respectful kitchen culture

o Manage food costs, labor costs, and kitchen budgets

o Oversee ordering, inventory, and contracted vendor relationships

o Work closely with ownership and front-of-house leadership to ensure operational alignment

o 5+ years of professional kitchen experience, including leadership roles

Proven experience as an Executive Chef and / or Chef de Cuisine in a high-volume or comparable restaurant

o Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills

o In-depth knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations

o Ability to manage costs while maintaining culinary excellence

o Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment

o Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

o Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

o Competitive salary is $80,000 to $110,000

o Performance bonus that is attainable
