Full Job Description

Location: Miami, FL
Schedule: Hybrid
Employment Type: Contract (6+ Months)
Pay Rate: $65.00–$70.00/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced EPM Functional Analyst with strong Enterprise Performance Management functional expertise, accounting and financial planning knowledge, and proven experience supporting finance systems projects. This role will partner closely with Finance, Accounting, FP&A, IT, and external vendors to support system enhancements, process improvements, and finance transformation initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with EPM applications supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and close processes. This person should be comfortable gathering requirements, supporting configuration and testing, troubleshooting functional issues, and helping improve finance processes through system enhancements and automation.

Key Responsibilities

EPM Functional Support

Serve as a functional resource for EPM applications supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and close processes.
Partner with Accounting, Planning, FP&A, and business teams to gather and document business requirements.
Translate business needs into functional system requirements and support solution design.
Assist with system configuration, testing, validation, and deployment activities.
Troubleshoot functional issues and coordinate resolution with technical teams and external vendors.
Support maintenance of metadata, hierarchies, workflows, business rules, and reports.

Accounting and Financial Planning Support

Budgeting and forecasting
Monthly and quarterly close
Financial reporting
Management reporting
Variance analysis
Workforce planning
Work with Accounting and FP&A teams to ensure systems align with financial and operational requirements.
Assist with data validation, reconciliations, reporting accuracy, and process consistency.
Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation or improvement.

Project Support and Delivery

Participate in finance systems and process improvement projects from requirements gathering through implementation and post-go-live support.
Contribute to project planning, status tracking, issue management, and risk identification.
Coordinate with stakeholders across Finance, IT, and external consultants to ensure project milestones are met.
Support UAT, training, documentation, and change management efforts.
Assist in preparing project updates, meeting materials, timelines, and action item follow-up.
Support initiatives related to system enhancements, upgrades, integrations, and finance transformation efforts.

Documentation and Process Improvement

Create and maintain documentation, including:

o Business requirements

o Process flows

o Test scripts

o User guides

Recommend improvements to finance processes, controls, and system usage.
Support governance, audit readiness, and compliance requirements as applicable.
Promote best practices in EPM usage, financial planning processes, and project execution.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
3–7+ years of relevant experience in EPM systems, finance systems, accounting, planning, or related roles.
Hands-on functional experience with planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
Functional experience with EPM tools supporting budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and/or financial close.
Strong understanding of Accounting and Financial Planning processes.
Experience working on projects, including system implementations, enhancements, upgrades, or process improvement initiatives.
Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into functional system needs.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across business and technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Oracle EPM Suite and/or Hyperion Planning.
Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite, EBS, and/or OBIEE is a plus.
Knowledge of finance systems integrations, metadata management, and reporting tools.
Familiarity with month-end close, planning cycles, workforce planning, and management reporting.
Experience working with cross-functional teams across Finance, Accounting, FP&A, and IT.
Exposure to project management methodologies and tools.
Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project environments.
