Full Job Description

Title of Position: Senior Arts Manager for Expanded Learning

Reports to: Director of Expanded Learning Development

Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Non-Exempt; Full-time: 12 Month, Essential Workforce

Primary Purpose: NorCal Arts is seeking a dynamic Senior Arts Manager for Expanded Learning to oversee the strategic implementation, compliance, and growth of our after-school, intersession, and summer enrichment TK - 8th grade expanded learning programs. Reporting directly to the Director of Expanded Learning Development, you will lead, manage, coach, and evaluate school site-based Arts Managers to ensure they deliver high-quality arts-infused programming that meets state grant requirements and serves the community. The Senior Arts Manager drives continuous quality improvement, ensuring our integrated arts expanded learning programs consistently exceed programmatic and point-of-service benchmarks across multiple school sites while supporting the mission, vision, and philosophy of the school district and NorCal Arts.

Required Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in field related to education, child development, arts administration,

theatre, or arts education;

● Two years of successful expanded learning management experience;

● Provide own transportation to various work sites and proof of valid insurance;

● Verification of a negative Tuberculosis test;

● CA Department of Justice criminal background check clearance;

● Federal Bureau of Investigation criminal background check clearance;

● Passion for leadership capacity building.

● Monitor grant and contract compliance;

● Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision;

● Experience coordinating complex projects with an attention to details;

● Ability to manage multiple priorities and flexibility when they change;

● Facilitation strategies and approaches that create and maintain an environment of safety,

respect, and learning;

● Understanding of school cultures, cultural competency and implementing conflict

resolution strategies that support healthy environments;

● Model professional behaviors and ethical standards;

● Ability to facilitate partner, community based organization and stakeholder needs;

● Excellent written and verbal communication;

● Computer proficiency Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and attendance database;

● Maintain reliable, consistent attendance and punctuality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

● Quality Assurance & Compliance

o Implement, and monitor quality assurance rubrics aligned with the California

Quality Standards for Expanded Learning;

o Conduct on-site compliance audits to ensure safe environments, proper

staff-to-student ratios, and effective curriculum delivery;

o Manage the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process by analyzing

region-wide survey data from students, parents, and staff;

o Ensure all programming strictly aligns with federal, state, local, and grant

requirements.

● Operations Management

o Create a safe, supportive and respectful environment;

o Supervise managers in a safe, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere;

o Address escalated site-level challenges, incident reports, and parent concerns

promptly;

o Monitor budgets, manage resources, and ensure cost-effective operations;

o Monitor attendance targets and systems;

o Collaborate with recruitment on staffing needs and forecasts;

o Provide oversight and guidance to management teams at assigned school sites;

o Participate in district meetings and site audits with area representatives;

o Organize performance evaluations and reviews.

● Training and Staff Development

o Stay informed of innovative ideas, best practices and new research;

o Develop and facilitate staff training and professional development;

o Monitor staff training needs;

o Organize team building activities;

o Seek out personal professional development;

o Support the implementation and scheduling of arts modalities and athletic

curriculum.

● Communicate

o Collaborate with school principals, district administrators, and community

partners to tailor programming to the specific needs of the community.

o Prioritize parent questions and concerns responses;

o Deliver staff feedback using the continuous quality improvement cycle;

o Comfortable with public speaking and presentations.

● Coordinate

o Stakeholder meetings;

o Special projects;

o Meeting facilitation and community relations.
