SHIFT HOURS: 6:30am - 3:00pm, $15.50/hr.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This position assists in the preparation, assembly and packaging of products and other related activities. Contributes to the Team’s efforts in obtaining production efficiencies within the parameters established by the company; as well as following the Health & Safety and Food Safety Programs established by the Company. Employee in this position successfully supports one area and covers basic tasks in other areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follows daily line assignment as directed by department lead and/or line lead.
- Uses simple tools and equipment to complete tasks.
- Loads, packs, and seals product into cases and palletizes as required.
- Performs job tasks in adherence to safety instructions and rules.
- Has the ability to function in a high paced environment and interact cordially with co-workers.
- Reports all issues and problems to Supervisor.
- Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training.
- Reports any injury or accident immediately to supervisory and/or any unsafe condition.
- Performs area housekeeping as required.
- Performs only job functions that they have been trained on and fully understand.
- Is punctual, on time, and adheres to company attendance policies. Regular Attendance is an essential job function.
- May perform other duties as assigned and may be moved between production areas and assignments as needed.

FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY
This position is responsible for following company policies, procedures and work instructions to ensure the production, storage and distribution of safe, quality food. Responsible for informing management of any observation or finding that could impact the safety and quality of company products.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school education preferred; or up to one year related experience or training in a manufacturing assembly environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred experience in food industry.
LANGUAGE SKILLS and MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
The employee must have the ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions and communicate orally and the ability to perform unit measures, conversion calculations and other mathematical calculations reasonably necessary to satisfactorily perform job duties. Preferred functional literacy and oral communication skills in English for safety and following job specific instructions

The employee must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions and to communicate effectively with the team.

- The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and taste or smell.
The employee must frequently carry out the following essential job functions:
- Vertically transfer material weighing up to 10 lbs from a start height of 66 inches to an end height of 28 inches from the floor up to 60 times per hour.
- Vertically transfer food trays weighing up to 10 lbs from a start height of 72 inches to an end height of 36 inches from the floor up to 30 times per hour.
- Horizontally transfer packaged foods weighing up to 15 a distance of 1 foot up to 420 times per hour.
- Horizontally transfer loaded pallet utilizing a mechanical device with a force up to 50lbs for a distance of 200 feet up to 10 times per hour.
- Grasp or squeeze product requiring forces up to 40 lbs up to 100 times per hour
- The employee is required to assume a static standing posture to work.
- The employee is required to assume a repetitive overhead posture to work at a height 72 inches from the floor up to 20 times per hour.
- The employee is required to assume a standing posture up to 60 minutes /hour continuously for a total of up to 8 hours per day.
- The employee must frequently ambulate a distance up to 5000 feet.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work independently and with others, having verbal face-to-face contact. The employee may be required to be available for shift work, extended days, be available for call-backs, and work inside and in confined spaces. The employee is regularly exposed to wet, humid, cold and/or hot conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment may require all employees to wear mandatory hearing protection devices. Employee will be required to work in an environment in which temperature ranges from sub-0° to 85°.
