Under the direction of the Hotel Housekeeping Manager and the Hotel Housekeeping Supervisor, the Hotel Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning guest rooms and hotel common areas and responding to guest requests in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service, ensuring that the highest standards of Bear Springs Hotel are upheld.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Thoroughly clean and sanitize guest rooms within the standard timeframe including, but not limited to, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting and vacuuming in accordance with brand standard levels of excellence.
· Change and replenish bedding/linens, towels, and guest amenities in accordance with brand standard level of excellence.
· Enter guest rooms following procedures for gaining access and ensuring vacancy before entering.
· Responsible for expedient turnover of hotel guest rooms with high quality as defined by service metrics established by hotel management on every shift.
· Clean common areas including, but not limited to, the lobby and common bathrooms as assigned.
· Perform deep cleaning tasks, as needed.
· Stock, organize, maintain and transport housekeeping supply cart daily.
· Dispose of trash and recyclables.
· Respond to guests’ requests such as linens, pillows, towels and amenities in a timely and efficient manner.
· Perform guest turn down service.
· Prepare room for VIP arrivals.
· May perform laundry duties as assigned.
· Report any problems or concerns to their immediate supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Education/Experience/Qualifications
· High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
· One year of hotel housekeeping experience is preferred.
· Must be able to communicate effectively read, understand and follow oral and written instructions and use of cleaning products and equipment safely.
· Must maintain discretion when handling guests’ belongings and privacy.
· Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis.
· After the training period is completed, must be able to accomplish all responsibilities independently, effectively and safely.
· Must be able to fully understand and complete all in-services.
· Must be able to be at work as scheduled and on time.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
· Must provide unexpired, Right To Work documents such as a valid social security card, a U.S. birth certificate, U.S. citizen ID Card, a resident citizen ID card, a U.S. passport, or employment authorization documents issued by the Department of Homeland Security.
Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions – Environment
The physical demands and working environment described here are representative of those that an employee encounters and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
· Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled hotel setting.
· Work requires intermittent sitting, standing and/or stooping as well as bending, crouching or stooping.
· Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
· Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions.
· Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone.
· Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 30 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to work and use cleaning products and PPE.
· Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, or to make general observations of facilities, guests and employees.
