Full Job Description

R&D Engineer - Galway

Overview
We are seeking a motivated R&D Engineer to support the development and improvement of disposable medical devices, including EEG cup electrodes, needle electrodes, injection-moulded assemblies, and wearable devices.
This role is suited to a recent graduate or engineer with up to 5 years' experience who is eager to learn, enjoys hands-on engineering work, and works well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Perform product testing using laboratory equipment, including automated force testing systems.
Analyse test data using statistical methods and prepare concise technical reports.
Assist senior engineers with product development and sustaining engineering activities.
Organise and manage prototypes, samples, and test materials.
Support design verification and product evaluation activities.
Create and update CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks.
Maintain engineering documentation in accordance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
Liaise with contract manufacturers and suppliers regarding samples, prototypes, and technical activities.
Contribute to problem-solving and continuous product improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

Degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Materials, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
2 to 5 years' engineering experience.
Working knowledge of SolidWorks/CAD
experience in Test methods, Tensile testing. report wriring and working with contractors / suppliers.
Understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering materials.
Ability to analyse data and apply basic statistical techniques.
Strong technical documentation and reporting skills.
Good organisational and communication skills.
Understanding of working within a Quality Management System.
