BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse is seeking a friendly, energetic, and customer-focused Restaurant Server to join our team. As a Restaurant Server, you will create a welcoming dining experience by greeting guests, taking accurate food and beverage orders, delivering meals promptly, and providing attentive service throughout each guest’s visit. You will work closely with the kitchen, hosts, bartenders, and management team to ensure smooth restaurant operations and excellent guest satisfaction.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment, and takes pride in delivering professional and personable service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, attentive table service.
- Present menus, explain daily specials, and answer questions about food and beverage selections.
- Accurately take and enter food and drink orders into the restaurant POS system.
- Communicate special requests, allergies, and dietary needs to the kitchen team.
- Deliver food and beverages efficiently while maintaining proper presentation.
- Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and respond promptly to requests.
- Recommend menu items, beverages, and additional selections when appropriate.
- Process guest payments accurately and handle cash, credit cards, and other payment methods.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked dining and service areas.
- Coordinate with hosts, bartenders, kitchen staff, and other servers to maintain efficient service.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and restaurant service standards.
- Assist with side work, table resetting, restocking, and closing duties.
- Resolve routine guest concerns professionally and notify management when additional assistance is needed.
- Maintain a positive, professional attitude during busy shifts.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable handling multiple tables and priorities at the same time.
- Basic cash-handling and POS experience is helpful.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely carry food and beverage trays.
- Must be dependable, team-oriented, and guest-focused.
- Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
